The Addictions Care Center of Albany (ACCA) – Stabilization & Rehabilitation for Women is a long-term, residential substance use recovery program for adult women whose alcohol or drug use has significantly disrupted daily functioning, roles, relationships or personal stability. ACCA is a nonprofit treatment provider with OASAS-certified residential services designed to help women stabilize, rehabilitate and begin rebuilding routines and coping skills within a structured live-in environment.
Residential Stabilization With Therapeutic Support
In the early phase of recovery, residents live onsite at ACCA’s stabilization residences, including the site in Albany and in Queensbury, where women receive continuous supervision and support 24/7. This phase helps participants safely step away from destabilizing environments, manage withdrawal symptoms, begin emotional healing, and engage fully with therapeutic work.
Rehabilitation Embedded in Daily Routine
Once stabilized, the rehabilitation component blends individual and group counseling, recovery education, relapse-prevention planning, coping skills training and life-skills development into consistent daily routines rather than isolated clinical sessions. Residents are encouraged to build accountability, strengthen social support networks, and create practical tools for maintaining recovery beyond the residential setting.
Support for Co-Occurring Needs and Family Roles
ACCA’s women’s residential program addresses both substance use and co-occurring behavioral or emotional health concerns, helping women unpack underlying patterns while rebuilding stability in daily life. Priority placement is available for pregnant women and those at risk of losing child custody due to substance use, reflecting an emphasis on continuity and support for parental roles.
Part of a Continuum That Bridges Back to Everyday Life
This stabilization and rehabilitation residence fits within ACCA’s broader continuum of care, including outpatient services, reintegration planning and transitional housing, so women can maintain recovery momentum as they transition back into work, family, and community responsibilities.
A Residential Option for Structured, Sustained Change
ACCA’s women’s stabilization and rehabilitation residences are suited to adult women who need immersive residential support grounded in structured routine, peer accountability and therapeutic depth to interrupt entrenched substance use patterns and build healthier habits that endure beyond the program.
