Who Answers?

Calls to the website’s main helpline are answered by Wert Inc., a call center that specializes in helping individuals and families across the United States find resources for substance use disorder.

Addicted.org and Wert Inc. do not own any rehab or addiction services. This means our helpline can provide completely independent and unbiased advice to help you find the rehab service most suitable for you or your loved one.

Please note that if you are calling from California, your call will be answered by Alli Intervention, an intervention service based in California. However, when calling the helpline, you are under no obligation to use any of their services.

Our helpline comes at no cost to the caller and offers complete confidentiality.

You can also browse our comprehensive list of addiction treatments by state by visiting our homepage. Don’t hesitate to reach out by calling our helpline or filling out our contact form if you need help finding the right rehab center or detox program. However, if you believe you have a medical emergency, you should immediately call 911.

The Center for Prevention and Counseling

Updated on: 12 February 2026

About this center

The Center for Prevention & Counseling is a community-focused outpatient addiction support organization in Sussex County that helps adults (as well as teens, families and community groups) address substance use challenges, build healthier habits, and strengthen emotional wellbeing without residential placement. Its mission is to promote health, hope and recovery by providing education, counseling, harm reduction support, recovery coaching and resource connection in ways that fit everyday life rather than isolated clinical episodes.

Prevention, Counseling and Recovery Support Across Life Stages

The Center offers a wide range of services that support people at different points in their recovery journey:

  • Prevention education and community outreach aimed at reducing risk factors and promoting informed decision-making in youth, families and other community groups.
  • Outpatient counseling and clinical support for individuals dealing with alcohol or drug use, co-occurring behavioral health concerns, stress and trauma, often delivered through structured sessions that help build coping strategies, relapse-prevention skills and life routines.
  • Harm reduction services such as peer support, naloxone (Narcan) access, safer use supplies, wound care guidance and referrals to healthcare and treatment options.
  • Recovery community support, including peer-led gatherings, recovery coach programs, family support and system navigation to help people connect with resources and sustain progress.

Accessible Outpatient and Community-Anchored Care

Located in Newton, the Center serves adults across Sussex County and beyond with flexible outpatient services that allow people to pursue recovery goals while maintaining work, family and community roles. Services are provided at low or no cost thanks to grant funding, and include educational workshops, therapy, harm reduction support, referral assistance, and community events designed to build resilience and long-term wellbeing.

Connecting Real-World Recovery With Everyday Life

By weaving prevention, clinical support, peer engagement and harm reduction into a community setting, The Center for Prevention & Counseling helps individuals build structure and resilience within the context of daily life rather than through short clinical episodes. This makes recovery accessible, supportive and practical for people at many stages of change.
