The Salvation Army Southeast Michigan Adult Rehabilitation Center is a faith-based residential recovery program for men and women in Detroit, Michigan. One of The Salvation Army’s largest Adult Rehabilitation Centers, it serves up to 300 adults at a time through a 12-step, abstinence-based program that pairs Christian ministry with work therapy. In keeping with the Adult Rehabilitation Centers model, accepted participants generally take part at no cost.
A Work-Therapy Program Rooted in Faith
As a residential program lasting about 180 days, the Southeast Michigan center places hands-on work at the backbone of recovery, using structured work-therapy activities to help participants rebuild routine, purpose, and self-respect. The program follows a 12-step, abstinence-based approach and provides individualized emotional, social, and spiritual assistance, guiding each person as they learn to stay clean and draw strength from their faith. Rooted in Christian ministry, it encourages participants to reaffirm their self-worth and find forgiveness as part of lasting change. Its large capacity allows the center to extend this support to as many as 300 men and women at once.
Support and Admission
The Salvation Army has served Detroit for well over a century, and in 2018 it brought its men’s and women’s rehabilitation programs together under one roof at this location. Admission is designed to be immediate and accessible, with a 24-hour helpline and transportation available so people can enter care at the moment they are ready. Throughout the program, participants receive steady emotional, social, and spiritual support, in keeping with The Salvation Army’s goal of helping men and women move from addiction toward a stable life.
