The Salvation Army – Syracuse Adult Rehabilitation Center is a long-term residential addiction recovery program for adults whose alcohol, drug or substance use has deeply disrupted daily functioning, roles and stability. It’s part of The Salvation Army’s Adult Rehabilitation Centers (ARC) network, one of the largest residential work-therapy-based rehabilitation systems in the United States, offering structured, immersive care in a residential setting.
Residential Work-Therapy and Structured Recovery
At this Syracuse location, residents live in a substance-free environment where they participate in a six-month residential program with work therapy, recovery support and life-skills development. Participants contribute up to eight hours a day in work-therapy assignments that help build responsibility and routine while also engaging in supportive counseling designed to strengthen coping skills and resilience.
Holistic Support With Community and Spiritual Elements
The program integrates peer support and spiritual encouragement within the community alongside practical routine building, helping residents explore the underlying patterns of substance use and work toward stability. Housing, meals and structured daily activities are provided as part of the residential experience, helping individuals focus on recovery within a consistent, supportive setting.
Accessible, Charitable Residential Care
Like other Salvation Army ARCs, the Syracuse center’s residential rehabilitation program is offered at no direct cost to eligible participants and is designed to assist adults ready to engage with structured recovery work and community living in a residential setting.
