Tuerk House provides transitional housing service to clients that are struggling substance and chemical abuse issues. Their services vary in-length and dependent on the client's addictive habits. They aim to offer client's struggling with alcohol and drug addiction a path towards quick and efficient recovery through a system of compassionate care. Their Main Office offers inpatient service to individuals of the Baltimore community, through which they can get counseling and recovery services. Their substance abuse services are mainly available through the inpatient service, through the long-term and short-term residential service. This facility aims to create a home-like atmosphere so that clients can become comfortable enough to begin recovering with the guiding principles of tolerance, professionalism, and patience.

Tuerk House, Inc. is a not-for-profit substance abuse treatment program established in Baltimore, Maryland in 1970. Tuerk House, Inc. provides residential and outpatient treatments and operates four recovery centers:

• Tuerk House Main Campus
• Nilsson House, a Halfway House for Women
• Weisman-Kaplan House, a Halfway House for Men
• Howard County House, a Halfway House for Men

Each of these foulr centers is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the nation's predominant standards-setting and accrediting body in health care.

To address the chronic, relapsing nature of alcoholism and addiction, Tuerk House, Inc. also provides on-going Peer Support to those who have graduated from residential and outpatient programs. Participants are never discharged from Peer Support.
