York County Shelter Programs - Serenity House

York County Shelter Programs is a committed group of individuals that provide care and shelter for the homeless community. They offer their services at various levels such as personal growth opportunities, recovery and treatment services, and housing services. Being a non-profit organization, it aims to provide cost-efficient recovery services to all kinds of people living in the community. The Serenity House offers inpatient service to individuals of the Portland community, through which they can get substance abuse counseling and treatment service in the on-site facility. This service is also offered to the clients on an individual basis, where each is the focus of the staff. They also provide shelter services to the homeless and relapse prevention services as special services.

The York County Shelter Programs Serenity House is located in Portland, Maine.  The York County Shelter Programs Serenity House is a residential, long term substance abuse treatment center that is known for being quite versatile and adaptable in its recovery programs.

Last year, our program served 560 homeless individuals who occupied more than 48,000 bed days of service.  Of our clients, 60% were male and 40% were female; 20% were children under the age of eighteen; 43% have a twelfth grade or equivalent education; 26% have a mental health diagnosis; 49 % have a chronic substance abuse problem; 56% were unemployed at the time of admittance; and 0% actively sought a homeless lifestyle.

The York County Shelter Programs Serenity House can offer extensive and helpful services to those who need a chance at truly triumphing over drug and alcohol addiction and basic substance abuse problems.  The York County Shelter Programs Serenity House rehab center is a community respected, well thought of, both long term and short term operating drug and alcohol addiction and dependence treatment center, health clinic, detox clinic, rehab program, recovery focused organization, addiction prevention association, and permanent sobriety-focused group.  The York County Shelter Programs Serenity House can be paid for with self pay, or it can be funded with insurance options from The First Care Health Plans Organization, HCSC Health Insurance Inc., United Health Care Services, Magellan Health Services, Exclusive Care Health Care Inc., LifeSynch Health Plans, First Health Network, APS PPO Health Care, The Medical Mutual Health Insurance Organization, American Health Group, and The Community Health Choice Association.
