Youth Outreach Services (YOS) operates a Pilsen office in Chicago, Illinois, delivering community-based substance use intervention services to youth in the surrounding neighborhood. Established in 1959, YOS is a nonprofit accredited by the Council on Accreditation and partnered with United Way, serving young people and their families across 23 Chicago neighborhoods and nearby suburban areas.
Substance Use Intervention for Youth
The Pilsen office offers substance use screening, assessment, and treatment tailored to young people who are struggling with alcohol or drug use. Programming centers on helping youth identify the ways substance use is impacting their lives and developing the coping skills necessary to move toward reducing or ending use. As part of the broader YOS network, the organization also provides exclusive substance abuse services at Illinois Youth Center facilities in Chicago, St. Charles, Warrenville, and Pere Marquette.
Counseling and Community Support
The Pilsen location connects youth to the full range of YOS counseling services, including individual, family, and group therapy, mentoring and outreach, and 24/7 crisis intervention. The organization accepts insurance and managed Medicaid to support accessibility. YOS’s approach to youth development is built on the principle that all young people have the capacity for excellence when met with the right support, confidence, and dignity.
