Dorchester County is a county that can be found in the state of Maryland. Home to a population which has been estimated at around 31,000 people as of 2019 according to the United States Census Bureau, Dorchester County is one of the smallest counties in the state. But even being sparsely populated is not enough to avoid the tragedy that comes along with America’s drug epidemic since the beginning of the millennium. Form 2015 to 2017 there were 22 drug deaths in Dorchester County according to a report from County Health Rankings and Roadmaps, a rate which shows just a glimpse of how many people are not getting the help that they need from drug and alcohol rehabilitation and detox services. Each death could have been avoided, but there are even more people who are using drugs and have not died yet. They will surely become statistics as well if they do not get treatment as soon as possible, which is why you should never ignore signs of drug use in a loved one waiting for them to be “ready”. Intervention saves lives. Use it before it is too late to do anything. No one wants to look back after tragedy and regret not doing everything possible to save a loved one.
