Drug & Alcohol Addiction Services for the LGBTQ Community in Colorado

Drug rehabilitation is the most effective solution to help treat any type of drug or alcohol addiction. For members of the LGBTQ community in Colorado, there will be many who have a substance use disorder. In fact, roughly 20 to 30% of LGBTQ people will struggle with drug abuse and addiction, when compared to 9% of the general population. There are numerous reasons why anyone would become addicted to drugs and alcohol. For LGBTQ people, this could be because of issues with discrimination, being shunned by family and friends, internalized self-hatred, and emotional or physical abuse. These types of issues do need to be properly addressed. LGBTQ specific drug treatment services will essentially be programs that are sensitive to the needs of members of this community and can provide specific therapy and counseling. Drug abuse is a dangerous problem to struggle with, and when you are using drugs to cover up some type of emotional or physical pain, this pain will only become worse.
