Anyone within the LGBTQ community in Florida, who is struggling with any type of drug or alcohol addiction, should be reaching out for help. Substance abuse and addiction affect 20 to 30% of the people who identify as LGBTQ, and over 25% of these individual's struggle with alcohol abuse, for example. People will turn to drugs and alcohol as a means of escaping the problems of life. In many cases, this is a way to cope with emotional and physical trauma you may be experiencing. An LGBTQ specific drug treatment program in Florida would essentially be a drug rehab center, that provides specific forms of counseling and therapy for the issues LGBTQ people struggle with. Finding the right type of treatment is important, and there are many different types of drug treatment programs in Florida to help addicts and their families. This can either be state funded or private facilities providing rehabilitation and therapy.
