Drug & Alcohol Addiction Services for the LGBTQ Community in Kentucky

Substance abuse and addiction do affect many of the different communities living throughout the state of Kentucky. Members of the LGBTQ community who are battling addiction can find help through local mental health and addiction services, and the private drug treatment programs in the state. When struggling with a drug or alcohol addiction, you should find the proper help you need, such as inpatient or outpatient treatment services, which would start with a detox. Roughly 20 to 30% of the LGBTQ community struggle with some type of substance use disorder. For example, roughly 25% will have an alcohol abuse problem, and gay men are 12 times more likely to abuse drugs such as amphetamines. When struggling with drug addiction, it can seem impossible to imagine a life without drugs. Rehabilitation is important, and the treatment process should start with detox, where you can withdrawal safely, and make a smooth transition into treatment.
