Drug & Alcohol Addiction Services for the LGBTQ Community in Ohio

Members of the LGBTQ community in Ohio who may be struggling with drug addiction can find help through local drug treatment resources. Regardless of the reason you became addicted to drugs or alcohol, finding help should be the priority. Some addicts use drugs to cover up emotional or physical pain they are experiencing, such as sexual abuse. In other cases, the addiction may have started with casual drug use, which eventually led to a full-blown addiction. Substance abuse does not have to be a life-long problem, and with the right help, an addict can fully overcome his or her addiction. Substance abuse within the LGBTQ community is often much higher than the general population. For example, roughly 20 to 30% of LGBTQ people will have some type of substance use disorder, and whereas 9% of the general population will struggle with this problem. It is important to find the right type of help and attend drug treatment centers and programs that will meet your needs.
