The LGBTQ community across the United States has a higher rate of drug and alcohol abuse when compared to the rest of the general population. Some of the stats do show that 20 to 30% of the LGBTQ community do struggle with substance abuse and addiction. Where alcohol is concerned, roughly 25% of the LGBTQ community will have an alcohol dependency problem.
