Drug abuse and alcohol addiction do impact many of the communities throughout the state of Washington. For members of the LGBTQ community, drug and alcohol abuse is a real problem. Roughly 20 to 30% of the LGBTQ people across the United States do struggle with alcohol and drug abuse. There are often many different reasons why someone would choose to abuse drugs and alcohol. This can be because of emotional and physical abuse, sexual assault, other types of trauma. Some addicts did start to abuse drugs out of boredom and as something to do. Even the most casual drug users can begin to abuse drugs more frequently. When you are looking for drug treatment programs in Washington, you should be finding programs that will meet your treatment needs. There may be some drug rehab centers in the state, which do provide LGBTQ specific treatment options. Essentially, this could be counseling and therapy to help address the specific problems that members of the LGBTQ community struggle with.
