Drug & Alcohol Detoxification Centers in Anchorage, Alaska

Substance abuse, drug addiction, and alcohol addiction are all very worrisome and intensively problematic issues to say the least. A state that is pretty heavily affected by drug and alcohol addiction and by substance abuse in general is Alaska. This state tends to surprise a lot of people in this regard. People do not generally look at Alaska and think that it would be the kind of state where people would continuously and steadily abuse drugs and alcohol. But that is the sad truth of the matter and the very real situation there.

Alaska has been known for having a bit of a crystal meth problem, something that it has only recently accrued actually, in the last few years or so. Crystal meth is particularly appeasing and is almost solely directed at young adults too, which is bad news for Alaska. The addictions to it that result plague the various younger populations of the United States. To provide some factual data on this, the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) found that over one and a half percent of eighth graders, almost two percent of tenth graders, and over three percent of twelfth graders are actually addicted to crystal meth, with those numbers all being higher for Alaskan youth.

Dr. Rohit is a Diplomate of the American Society of Addiction Medicine who has been supervising successful detox for over 13 years. He also has helped hundreds of people getting off drugs and alcohol addiction.

Cocaine too is a problem in Alaska. Cocaine is becoming increasingly more popular amongst young adults as well, again boding ill for Alaskan young adults. For example, among high-school students in the United States, almost a full ten percent of twelfth graders had used cocaine according to the special 2006 Monitoring the Future Study done by the National Institute for Drug Abuse.

The tricky thing with addressing a drug problem too in young adults is that they more often than not do not want to seek out care and help for their substance abuse problems. More often than not they are in fact entirely unwilling to get help with their addictions and to actually do something about them. Bad news indeed, but the real news nonetheless.
