Drug & Alcohol Extended Care Services in New York

Through many of the drug rehabilitation programs in New York, clients can access extended care programs once they finish treatment. Aftercare support is important and does improve your ability to maintain your sobriety. For example, sober living homes or transition housing is an excellent option for long-term extended care. Sober living homes are safe and structured environments, which are drug and alcohol-free. You can attend meetings, work with the people there, and manage your sobriety. Peer support groups are the most common form of aftercare support. These are 12-step meetings or support groups. It is recovering addicts helping one another through their sobriety. Twelve-step support groups are located all throughout the state of New York. Staying connected with one will certainly help you down the line. Most outpatient drug rehab centers will provide extended care programs for their clients. Once you have completed a standard outpatient program, there are further treatment aftercare options to consider.
