Drug & Alcohol Rehab Centers for Medical and Legal Professionals in Colorado

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration website do not list any specific programs for legal professionals or have a directory listing for each state. Within the state of Colorado, however, there are some programs that provide help for professionals, and this does include people working within the legal profession. These types of facilities do include outpatient and residential centers, but primarily programs for legal professionals will be operated out of a residential facility. Some patients will want to attend outpatient services, to continue to work and stay involved with his or her job.

Prescription-Drug Abuse among Legal Professionals

There are many lawyers, judges, and other legal professionals who are struggling with a problem with prescription drugs. These types of drugs can include anxiety medications, pain medications, and stimulants. A prescription-drug addiction can be difficult to treat because it requires a certain type of detox. Medical detox is the only successful way to help a person addicted to prescription drugs, as it will assist the patient with tapering off the drugs and stabilizing them physically before they enter a drug and alcohol treatment center. Detox is the first step, and prescription-drug users must understand that this will not solve all the problems, and they must transition into a drug and alcohol rehab center.
