How does a family help an addict come off of dangerous drugs?

The most effective method to help an addict is through medical detox or a traditional detox center. The detox process will ensure addicts can safely withdrawal from the drugs they were taking, or medically wean off dangerous medications. Detox is the first step for the addict, and from there they will transition into a drug rehabilitation program.
