Drug & Alcohol Rehab Services with ASL or Assistance for the Hearing Impaired in Arkansas

There will not always be an availability of counselors within drug rehab centers in Arkansas who are trained in American Sign Language. Persons that are deaf or hard of hearing and are addicted to drugs and alcohol will require the support from an interpreter who is trained in American Sign Language. Other services such as assisted listening devices, television decoders, telecommunications devices for the deaf may also be needed. Persons that are deaf and or hard of hearing and struggle with drug and alcohol addiction in Arkansas should reach out to the local resources they have access to. It is important to understand that there are services available for deaf and hard-of-hearing people, but they may not always be in the same city, county, or state. Drug and alcohol addiction can impact anyone, and for people who are deaf or hard of hearing, the struggle can be greater because of the lack of support and help that is available.
