Drug & Alcohol Rehab Services with ASL or Assistance for the Hearing Impaired in New Mexico

Drug and alcohol addiction is a problem that many people face in the state of New Mexico, and for the small percentage of those addicts who are deaf or hard of hearing, it may be difficult to locate the right help. Drug rehabilitation programs for people who are deaf or hard of hearing should involve people on site who can use American Sign Language, there should be assistive listening devices, and other types of communication technology to help them through therapy and counseling. Throughout the state of New Mexico are various types of substance abuse treatment programs and services. Some of these centers may have the capacity to offer these types of services or at least be able to arrange someone who can use American Sign Language. Interpreters are essential because if the patient is unable to communicate what is happening, they will not be able to address the needs of their addiction.
