Drug & Alcohol Rehab Services with ASL or Assistance for the Hearing Impaired in New York

Anyone who is concerned about a loved one who is deaf or hard of hearing and is struggling with drug addiction, should reach out to local treatment programs in New York and mental health services. There is a small percentage of the deaf and hard-of-hearing community within New York that is battling an addiction, mental illness or both. Unfortunately, it can be hard to locate resources that are equipped to treat the addiction and provide the necessary communication. Persons that are deaf or hard of hearing will rely on American Sign Language or assistive listening devices. Not every drug and alcohol rehabilitation center in the state of New York can provide all of this for each patient who comes in that is deaf or hard of hearing. However, there will be some facilities and drug treatment services, whether it is private or government funded that can offer the necessary communication tools to ensure someone who is deaf or hard of hearing and addicted drugs can get the help they need.
