Drug & Alcohol Treatment Services for the Asian American Community in Florida

Substance abuse is a dangerous and potentially deadly problem, and too many addicts in the state of Florida, do not reach out for help when they are able. Within the Asian-American community in the state, substance abuse does affect families and individuals within these communities. Substance abuse is not as big of a problem within the Asian-American community when compared to other racial groups within the United States. When you begin to struggle with a drug problem, it can quickly spiral out of control, if you do not find the proper help. Asian-Americans and Pacific Islanders were one of the largest growing racial groups within the United States, with close to 20 million people living within the United States. Substance abuse does affect Asian Americans, but other addictions such as gambling tend to be more of an issue. The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism reports the rate of alcohol consumption among Asian Americans is roughly 38%, which is lower when compared to other racial groups.
