Drug & Alcohol Treatment Services for the Asian American Community in New York

Drug and alcohol addiction in the state of New York are issues within many communities and larger cities. Within the Asian-American community living throughout the state, drug problems and other behavioral issues, such as gambling are problematic. However, substance abuse among Asian Americans is not as problematic, when compared to other racial groups. When you are struggling with any type of drug or alcohol problem, you should be looking for help. Traditionally, within Asian culture, individuals and families will tend to reach out for help through personal networks, such as with friends, family, and religious groups. Various types of drug treatment services operate within the state, and this does include those that are state-funded and many within the private sector. Asian Americans who are struggling with drug addiction in New York state should be reaching out to local treatment services, or mental health programs. It is important to find the best possible help and treat all aspects of the addiction.
