Substance abuse and addiction in Illinois can be seen within the Hispanic American communities. Whether this is alcohol abuse or drug abuse, many Hispanic families in the state struggle with these problems. The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism reports that 9.5% of the Hispanic population in the United States will suffer from alcohol dependency at least once in their lives. Despite many Hispanic Americans abstaining from alcohol, the stats do show when it is abused, alcohol is consumed in excess. Alcohol abuse can be difficult to treat, because of the withdrawals, and how addictive the drug is. Drug treatment programs in Illinois can help treat all types of alcohol and drug abuse problems. When you are searching for treatment in the state, you should be considering both state-funded and private rehab options. Finding the right type of help is important, and some of the drug treatment programs may provide Spanish language options for their clients.
