The state of New York has the fourth largest Hispanic population in the United States, with over 3.6 million, representing 6.6% of the nation's total Hispanic population. Most of the Hispanic community within the state resides in New York City, where there are over 2.4 million. The New York City metro area is home to over 4.8 million Hispanics.
