It can be hard for someone to afford treatment when they are retired or not working or when someone is struggling with a disability. Medicare health insurance helps those people in these positions get the proper help they need. Not every drug rehab center in California will take Medicare, but many programs do work with it. It is important for anyone struggling with a drug or alcohol addiction in the state to get the right help they need.

Percentage of the California Population Searching for Drug and Alcohol Treatment
Within the state of California, per the California Health Care Foundation (CHCF) around 93% of the people who are alcoholics did not receive treatment for their addiction. Approximately 7% of alcoholics in the state did receive treatment through a program in the state. Illicit drug use had slightly higher numbers with 88% of illegal drug users not receiving any treatment and 12% of illicit drug users going to a drug treatment program. Drug rehabilitation is the only successful way for an addict to overcome a drug or alcohol addiction. Throughout the state of California are hundreds of different drug treatment resources. Many of the programs are private non-profit or private for-profit treatment services along with many state-operated drug treatment services.
