Drug and Alcohol Rehab Centers with Language-Specific Services in Alabama

A language-specific program would involve a few things. This would include services to help the deaf/hard of hearing and those who spoke Spanish. Some drug treatment services in Alabama may have specific services like this. The Spanish community makes up a large percentage of the American population. It would be difficult for someone who speaks Spanish to work through counseling in English. Spanish speaking programs provide all their services in Spanish, including staff. Someone who is deaf or hard of hearing requires more unique help. These are staff trained in American Sign Language, or visual aids for the hearing impaired, and a different approach to therapy. Persons with disabilities are more likely to abuse drugs or alcohol. They may suffer from emotional or physical pain, be unemployed, or have a lower socioeconomic standing. Drug rehabilitation programs for the deaf or hearing impaired should be including American Sign Language, such as interpreters to help clients.
