Drug and Alcohol Rehab Centers with Language-Specific Services in New York

Various types of drug and alcohol treatment resources are extensive throughout the state of New York. Many facilities offer language-specific services, such as Spanish speaking programs. The Spanish speaking community within the state makes up around 20% of the total population. Struggling with drug addiction and not being able to speak English it tough. When you work with a counselor, you will want to speak your language to better communicate what you are feeling. Problems within the deaf and hard of hearing community are the same. People who are hard of hearing or deaf and struggle with addiction, will not always find the treatment they need. This is a common barrier, and most rehab centers make special accommodation’s for a client in this situation. However, some treatment centers are equipped to treat someone who is deaf and provide American Sign Language interpreters. The communication process is the most difficult part because you must express your problems with addiction through sign language.
