Drug Rehabilitation Centers in Lakewood, Washington

Last updated: Tuesday, 09, November 2021

Lakewood is a city that is located in the state of Washington. It is home to an estimated population of around 61,000 people according to the United States Census Bureau as of 2019, making Lakewood one of the larger cities in the state by population. But one drawback to being densely populated is the reality that America's drug epidemic is creating higher rates of drug addiction and overdose per capita, making areas like Lakewood highly susceptible to drug problems. In 2019 there were 15.2 drug deaths for every 100,000 residents of the state according to America's Health Rankings, a rate that shows exactly how many people are not getting the help that they need across the state when it comes to drug and alcohol rehabilitation and detox services. In Lakewood, this rate may have been even higher due to its population. But this does not necessarily reflect on the area's substance abuse treatment programs, since so many people never make it into treatment before their life is lost to drug or alcohol. In early addiction, it is not unusual for people to accidentally overdose before they were ever ready to get help. This is usually because they do not think that they have a problem yet since they just began and have never tried to stop. Their tolerance is also low, making overdose much more likely. This is why you must never ignore signs of drug use in a loved one.
