Alcohol and Drug Rehab Programs for DWI/DUI Offenders in Florida

The state of Florida does have some very stiff laws for DUI and DWI offenders if a person is charged with a first offense they can receive a six-month license suspension; if they refuse the breathalyzer, they can receive a 12-month suspension of their license. These fines and charges become more severe with every recurring offense. A DUI court is set up to specifically handle these types of cases, and the judges have the authority to order the offenders to drug and alcohol rehabilitation if they end up pleading guilty to the charge. Throughout the state of Florida, there are well over 60 different drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs that are able to accept DUI and DWI offenders and put them through a treatment program that will be capable to help their situation. These services have proven to lessen the rate of recurring offenders, which helps keep impaired drivers off of the road.
