Alcohol & Drug Treatments For Dwi/dui Offenders In Ohio

DUI and DWI charges in the state of Ohio carry with them some serious penalties and fines; in fact, a person can be fined upwards of $10,000, and their license can be permanently suspended. Along with all of this, if they still have a license and a vehicle, an ignition interlock device will be installed and must remain in their vehicle for at least six years. All of this can and will change a person’s life, especially if they caused an accident that resulted in injury or death. Recognizing the severity of these problems, DUI courts are now sending offenders to drug and alcohol treatment programs set up specifically to help their situation. This has proven to lessen the rates of re-offending, and has helped the offenders change their lives for the better, more importantly given them a chance to take some responsibility for their actions.
