Employee Assistance Programs for Drug & Alcohol Abuse in Massachusetts

Workplace stress and other problems at work can push someone to choose to abuse drugs and alcohol. An employee assistance program; that may be offered within many businesses in Massachusetts, can help employees handle workplace stress effectively. The EAP is a service that will provide a variety of help, such as with financial struggles, mental health concerns, substance abuse issues, marital and family problems, and legal concerns, among many others. Battling a drug or alcohol problem outside of work will eventually begin to impact your productivity, and work performance. When this happens, it will be a good idea to contact your employee assistance program. This will often be a toll-free number, and any information gathered from the employee is kept confidential and is not released back to the employer. Employee assistance programs are often provided to the employer through the health insurance provider. If the services given are not enough for what is needed, the EAP can refer you to further treatment options in Massachusetts.
