Last updated: Tuesday, 09, November 2021

Fredericksburg is a city which is located in the state of Virginia. It is home to a population which was estimated at 29,000 people as of 2019 according to the United States Census Bureau, Fredericksburg is one of the smaller cities in the state. But being small is not enough to offer protection from the raging drug epidemic in our country, and the whole state has been affected. In 2019 there were 15.4 drug deaths for every 100,000 residents of the state according to a report from America's Health Rankings, a small portion of the people who struggle with substance abuse that year. But each of these people can no longer be helped, while those who are still alive can be. This is why we must act before it is too late. But many of these people will die before they are ever ready to get help, which is why it is an error to wait for them to be ready for help. Intervention services save lives every day because they work. While it is not ideal to use intervention to get someone to go to treatment, it is certainly better than just waiting and hoping. No one wants to regret not doing everything to save a life.
