Drug Rehabilitation Centers in Hanover County, Virginia

Hanover County has been struggling with the consequences that come with alcohol and drug abuse, and the amount of damage it has caused in the community is proof of that. When someone is seeking help from treatment for their addiction issues, they may not know where to look. For them, an assessment might be the best thing, as it is a service that will help them determine what course of treatment is best for them, depending on their circumstances, the severity of their addiction, etc. This may be first a detox program, and then either an outpatient or inpatient treatment program. So, an assessment is an extremely important part of an addict's life, as this is where their road to recovery begins.

Hanover County's Prevention of Substance Abuse

When a community is taken by alcohol and drug abuse problems, prevention becomes very essential, because it helps reduce substance abuse and prevent further abuse and addiction from happening. First, there is the Hanover County Sheriff's Office which has established the Greater Richmond Narcotics Task Force, and it works on investigations related to drug dealers in the area, and it consists of many law enforcement agencies, including the Sheriff's Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Next, the Sheriff's Office has the Youth Services Unit, and one of the programs they offer is the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program to students from kindergarten to 5th grade. It provides them with information on the harmful effects of drugs, as well as how to resist the pressure of using such substances. Now, when a young person is already suffering from addiction, the correct thing to do is for them to attend a treatment program for youth. This will allow them to appropriately address the problems in their life that brought them to abuse alcohol and/or drugs in the first place. Then, they can be provided with the tools to deal with these issues and have alternative solutions to deal with stressful situations without resort to any substance.
