Harrisonburg is a city that is located in the state of Virginia. Home to an estimated population of around 53,000 people as of 2019 as reported by the United States Census Bureau, Harrisonburg is one of the larger cities in the state. But this is not always a good thing, since being densely populated can also mean increased rates of drug addiction and overdose. This has been an issue for the state of Virginia since there early 2000s when the drug epidemic first began in this nation and has not gotten any better since then. In 2019 there were 15.4 drug deaths for every 1100,000 residents of the state according to a report from America's Health Rankings, a rate which shows only a portion of the people who are not getting the help they need each year from drug rehabs and detoxes in the area. But this does not mean that the services in the area are doing a bad job since so many of these people were never even close to being ready to get help before their life was lost to drugs. Accidental overdose is becoming more and more common in early addiction, which is why you should never wait for the person to be "ready". Act now while you still can do something to help them.
