Drug and Alcohol Intervention Services in Idaho

Knowing when to do an intervention is not always easy, but it is essential to understand that intervention works. There is no wrong time to do an intervention; however, there is a misconception that an addict will ask for help. Unfortunately, this is not always the case, and most addicts do not reach out for help right away. Family intervention is the process of family and friends becoming involved and convincing the addicted person they need help. This is often done with a professional interventionist, which does make the process more successful. Certified interventionists not only help the addict but also provide continuous support for the family. When choosing intervention services in Idaho, most families hire nationwide intervention groups. Local trained and certified interventionists are not always available, but countless groups operate across the nation.

Like many other states across the nation, Idaho has struggled with issues connected to prescription opioids, illicit drugs, and alcohol. In 2015 there were over 200 people who died from a drug overdose. Most of these overdose deaths that year were linked to opioids. During that same year was one of the highest percentages of drug overdose deaths related to prescription drugs. In 2013 an Idaho citizen died every 39 hours because of a drug-induced deaths causes by illicit prescription and over the counter drugs. During 2015, roughly 17% of Idaho high school students reported taking prescription drugs without a prescription. Professional intervention is effective for both adolescents and young adults. Hiring an interventionist is the best way to help convince either person to get the treatment they need.
