Intensive Outpatient Programs for Drug & Alcohol Addiction in New Mexico

Outpatient Drug Rehab offering Intensive Care Options in New Mexico

Intensive outpatient drug treatment is not like a typical outpatient program; the services that are offered at these facilities can be more compressed and delivered in a shorter period of time. It does take a lot of dedication to stay with one of these programs as a client will be doing these services for upwards of 20 hours a week. The purpose of an outpatient treatment center is to allow the patient to attend work and maintain his or her family life. There is a lot of work involved during the process, and there is much responsibility placed on the addict to remain drug-free, but random drug testing does help with this.

Why would a person become addicted?

Family members of addicts ask this question all the time, and quite frankly, there are numerous reasons why a person will become addicted to drugs or alcohol. Simply put though, the substance that they end up using is providing them with the necessary escape from whatever it is they are avoiding or not wanting to take responsibility for. There is always something, whether it is very small or very large, there is something there that will push a person to use drugs or begin to experiment with drugs.
