Lake County is a county that can be found in the state of Florida. Home to a population estimated to be around 367,000 people as of 2019 according to the United States Census Bureau, Lake County is one of the smaller counties in the state by population. But that doesn’t mean that Lake County hasn’t seen problems with drug addiction and overdose death, something that has been an issue virtually everywhere since America’s drug epidemic began in the early 2000s. From 2015 to 2017 there were 179 drug deaths there according to County Health Rankings and Roadmaps, a rate that shows how many people could have gotten better help with their substance abuse issues. But this isn’t to blame drug and alcohol rehabilitation and detox services, since many of these people never made it anywhere near a treatment facility. This is because in early addiction it is not uncommon for the person to accidentally overdose before ever being ready to get help. This is why you would never ignore suspicions of drug use in a loved one or wait for them to be “ready”. They may die before that ever happens. You must confront them on signs of drug use and use intervention if necessary, to save their life.
