Drug And Alcohol Rehab Centers For Law Enforcement & First Responders In Oregon

OREGON SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT CENTERS FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL

The drug and alcohol treatment resources operating within the state of Oregon do not include an abundant amount of programs that are available to treat people who work in law enforcement and may be struggling with an addiction. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration website do offer a somewhat extensive directory of programs, but there is no specific list of services for the men and women of law enforcement who battle substance abuse or addiction.

HOW SERIOUS IS ALCOHOL ABUSE AMONG LAW ENFORCEMENT MEMBERS?

Alcohol abuse among people who work in law enforcement was once a major problem for some, and in some parts still is, but is not necessarily the primary drug of choice for those people who end up abusing drugs or alcohol. There has always been a strong connection between occupational stress and alcohol abuse, and it is not uncommon for police officers to abuse alcohol to cope with this stress. Unfortunately, there is a particular subculture that encourages drinking for stress reduction, but it is not every person who falls into this trap of alcohol abuse.
