Help is Possible

There are a few options in Vermont for drug treatment centers, and some may include a law enforcement personnel and first responder program. No doubt shift work is hard, and working rotating night and day shifts does take a toll on a person regardless of how much they become adjusted to the rotation. Members of law enforcement who suffer from sleep deprivation will experience higher levels of stress, which can lead to binge drinking or experimenting with other drugs. When a person does not get the right amount of sleep, they may end up feeling more anxious or experience some depression. People can be prescribed some drugs to help manage sleep deprivation, and this could potentially lead to addiction if the medication is not taken as directed.

Drug & Alcohol Addiction Services for Professionals in Vermont

When struggling with drug addiction it is not always easy to reach out for help. Members of the military and veterans in Vermont who are addicted may not ask for treatment. There is often a stigma attached to being addicted to drugs or alcohol, and because of this, there is a fear to ask for help. Problems with prescription drugs and alcohol abuse are prevalent. However, drug rehabilitation programs in Vermont can help treat any type of addiction. Members of law enforcement and first responders who are struggling with addiction can also find the help they need. Binge drinking is a common problem among law enforcement, as a way to deal with the stress of the job. Also, some officers binge drink as a way to fit in with other co-workers. Within the medical profession, some doctors fall into problems with self-prescribing. Legal professionals can become caught up with self-medicating and abusing alcohol.
