Search Drug and Alcohol Detox & Rehabs in Maryland by County

Like many east coast states, Maryland has seen increasing substance abuse issues, especially when it comes to heroin addiction. Heroin has been traveling up the eastern seaboard at increasing rates quite intensively since the turn of the century. Prescription drug abuse has also become a big problem in Maryland, but heroin has taken the stage as the number one concern as it is more prevalent and it kills more people. Maryland, as well as nearby states, have seen what is now being considered the worst heroin epidemic of the history of the nation according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The best way to combat a heroin problem is with drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation. This normally begins with the detox process, but more specifically, those who are addicted need to enter into a residential program for addiction to fully address their addiction crisis, and they need to do so sooner rather than later.

First, there is drug poisoning, which has caused many deaths in all of these counties, with a death rate of 728, 1,244, and 431 deaths per 100,000 population respectively, according to County Health Rankings. We heard earlier of inpatient treatment, which is the more comprehensive type of treatment, but there is also its counterpart, outpatient treatment, that is absolutely valid. It is more accommodating because the person does not have to live at the facility for the duration of the treatment. This will help ensure that they stick to their treatment and to their sobriety.
