Methamphetamine Addiction Treatment & Detox Clinics In Kentucky

Methamphetamine is known to be one of the worst drugs to be addicted to in Kentucky. It is intensely addictive and causes symptoms that are very unpleasant. Even someone who has just started taking meth can start feeling some paranoia; have a very high body temperature (which can even be deadly for some people) and anxiety. Of course, we have all seen the effect that meth has on people with pictures of completely changed faces, with a pale complexion, dark areas under their eyes and a lot of acne or sores. These are symptoms of long-term use of methamphetamine.

All the ingredients that are used to make methamphetamine found in Kentucky are all very toxic. Some of the ingredients that can be used are anything from brake cleaner, batteries and even fertilizers. This is very toxic to the body and is probably why it ravages it so quickly. Another danger related to methamphetamine in Kentucky is crystal meth manufacture. It represents a big danger for those living near meth labs because of the toxic gas that get released during the process. There also have been a lot of explosions due to the combination of elements in meth labs.

Methamphetamine is mostly found in big quantities in the Southeastern parts of Kentucky. The state officials are constantly trying to curb the methamphetamine epidemic going on in Kentucky. The people of Kentucky are working to seize both the meth being smuggled in and the meth being produced locally. In 2007, they seized about 8 kilograms of meth, and in 2010, they seized over 9 kilograms. They also look forward to bust the meth labs located in Kentucky that are used to produce meth locally. In 2005, when the law to restrict meth ingredients from being sold was passed, it seemed that the meth labs would be less of a problem. And it did look that way. In 2004, they busted 576 meth labs in Kentucky, and then in 2006. They busted 227 meth labs. It seemed to be going in the right direction, but it seemed to have come back. In 2010, there were almost 1,000 meth labs busted.

Methamphetamine is seen all over Kentucky. One of the good things is that almost 10% of all drug treatment admissions are for methamphetamine addiction. One year, there were about 5,000 drug treatment admissions in Kentucky. Out of these, about 450 admissions were for methamphetamine addiction. It was found that 60% of them were male and that the majority of these admissions are between 26 and 35 years old. However, the problem with methamphetamine addiction in Kentucky is still very present and a big problem for the whole population.
