Medicaid health insurance is currently accepted at some addiction treatment facilities located throughout Montana. The Montana Medicaid office in the state provides low-cost and free health insurance for many people living in the state. If someone is struggling with a drug or alcohol addiction and does not have health insurance, they are encouraged to apply for Medicaid.

There are certain eligibility requirements for Medicaid, but someone struggling with a substance abuse disorder can use Medicaid to help pay for treatment in Montana. People or families who are covered by Medicaid in Montana and who are watching a loved one struggle with addiction are encouraged to contact the Medicaid office or the county mental health board to find out which drug treatment programs will accept Medicaid insurance.
