When a teen chooses to use drugs, it will be a choice that will impact his or her life for a long time to come. If this teen chooses to use these drugs every day, consume alcohol regularly it will forever change his or her life for the worse. Drug and alcohol addiction in the state of Oregon is no different than any other state. Young adolescents of the state face major problems and use drugs to cope with these problems. Fortunately, within the state, there are over fifty different treatment facilities available. A teen can have a choice of addictions counseling, residential and outpatient treatment, and even detox services. The right help is available in the state, and a teen can get into a center quite quickly.

ADOLESCENT DRUG REHAB CENTERS IN OREGON

Within the city of Portland and in the northern part of the state are most of the adolescent drug rehab centers. This includes detox, outpatient centers, and residential programs for teens; listed on the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services website are over 60 resources and all of their contact information. Within the southern part of the state, there is not much for adolescent drug rehab facilities, but some help is available.

HOW DOES DRUG ABUSE AFFECT A TEENS BRAIN?

Each drug will impact the brain differently but will deliver an un-natural high, and adolescents will experience that high, but after-effects can be different. Long-term use can cause damage within the brain, although the body is resilient, there can be permanent damage. Some drugs will cause more severe damage than others, but overall; extended drug abuse and alcohol abuse will impact the teen's mental health.
