Health insurance providers such as Aetna will often include substance abuse treatment programs in their policies. Families and individuals living in Puerto Rico who are covered by Aetna health insurance may be able to attend some of the drug treatment programs in the area that will accept Aetna Health insurance. Aetna health insurance will not necessarily cover all the cost with treatment, but some services in Puerto Rico such as residential drug treatment, outpatient counseling, or some types of individual therapy or hospital inpatient drug rehab. Drug problems are major issues for many people living in Puerto Rico, and it can be hard to get the right help. Private drug and alcohol treatment in Puerto Rico can be expensive, and many families and addicts will have to rely on insurance or some type of financial assistance unless it is a federally funded program.
