Frequently Asked Questions

Should you seek treatment in Visalia, or look further away?

Visalia has live in programs and lighter daily support, and I want to point to the perinatal programming for pregnant clients. A pregnant person who is using is often the most scared to reach out, afraid of judgment or of losing the kids. A program built for that situation makes it possible to come in. The weak spot is withdrawal. It is limited here and some of what is advertised is non-medical, just monitoring, which is not safe for alcohol or benzo withdrawal. For those you need clinical supervision, and Tulare County Health and Human Services or the SAMHSA line can find you a Medi-Cal medically supervised withdrawal program. Local live in programs run a month to several. Once withdrawal is sorted, a plan comes together here. The one person I would send out is the guy for whom the Visalia environment is the driver. For him the right program further away does what the nearest one cannot.
