Frequently Asked Questions

Should you seek treatment in Henderson, or look further away?

In Henderson, sort out the river first. Evansville, Indiana is right across it, about 10 miles, and tempting. But Kentucky Medicaid will not cover Indiana programs, so you would need Indiana coverage or self pay to use them. Confirm before you go. Henderson itself has more than many towns its size, with live in programs and lighter daily support, and programs in a nearby town 21 to 25 miles away. For alcohol or opioids, medically supervised withdrawal care is the first step, through a hospital or the SAMHSA line. The free and faith based live in programs around here usually carry a waitlist, so apply early. When a person is finally ready, a wait is where you lose him. Henderson can carry a lot locally, with nearby towns close for more options. The one person I would push further is the guy for whom Henderson itself is the pull. For him a program with real distance does what the nearest bed cannot.
