Frequently Asked Questions

Should you seek treatment in Clay County, or look further away?

For someone in Clay County who needs to keep working while they get help, the local setup is friendly to that. There is CARF-accredited care here with medication support and extended evening hours, which lets a person hold a job and still be in real treatment. If your home is stable and this is caught before it is out of control, that can be the right fit. But be honest with yourself. That kind of care works when you can go home every night and not use. If you cannot, or you have tried it and relapsed, you need more. The Kansas City metro is only fifteen to eighteen miles south with twenty-four-hour medical detox and residential, including free faith-based beds. For alcohol or benzos, supervised medical care comes first, because those can be deadly to stop alone. If the evening schedule lets you keep your job and you can go home sober every night, use it. If you already tried that and used anyway, the move is the drive south to a residential bed, not a second run at the schedule that did not hold. Those fifteen miles are distance from home too, and that only helps.
