Frequently Asked Questions

Should you seek treatment in Union County, or look further away?

My advice for Union County is simple. Do not choose the lower-intensity option just because it sits in your town. The local care here is mostly community-based counseling, including for people with HIV and for DUI cases. That is the right fit for someone whose home is stable and who can go there every night and not use. But if home is part of the problem, local counseling in your own neighborhood is not going to be enough, and the answer is a short drive. More intensive care is only six to thirteen miles away in the next counties, including free long-term programs with work therapy. That is nothing for what you get. For a heavy alcohol or benzo withdrawal, local hospitals handle withdrawal first. Be honest about home. Choosing what is local and lower-intensity when you needed something more intensive is a decision you make for convenience and pay for with a relapse.
