Frequently Asked Questions

Should you seek treatment in Williamson County, or look further away?

Williamson County, the northern Austin suburbs, is thin for adults, so let me split this. The one real local program is faith-based programs for teenagers. If you have a struggling teenager, there is something built for him right here, and for a young person a structured program can reach what nothing at home has. But get an honest assessment first, because not every teen needs that level. For adults the treatment is mostly south in Travis County, seventeen to thirty-one miles, or north in Bell County about thirty-two, with the full range of care. For a dangerous alcohol or benzo withdrawal, a local hospital handles withdrawal first, since those are deadly to stop alone. For a struggling teenager the local program is here, but get the assessment before you commit him to that level. For an adult, do not wait for Williamson to grow an option it does not have. The full range is a short drive south in Austin.
